Crochet Sweaters: Six gorgeous, free patterns online

There may be nothing more satisfying than making your own crochet sweaters. It’s often one of the first projects many people choose to complete (after scarves, that is). Baby crochet sweaters are popular items, but today, we are focusing on crochet sweaters for women. Here are six, gorgeous free crochet sweater patterns for women available online.

The Becoming Jane sweater is a free pattern from the book AUSTENtatiousCrochet. The book features 36 contemporary designs from the world of Jane Austen. The crochet sweater pattern runs in sizes from XS to 2XL.

The second crochet sweater pattern is from Berroco yarns and it is the Twyla cardigan. The sweater is for experienced crocheters and the pattern is for sizes XS to XL. The sweater is perfect for fall and winter weather or on a chilly evening.

The His and Hers sweaters are from Crochet-World and the free pattern is available in sizes XS to XL. These sweaters are perfect for a cool winter evening. The pattern is in PDF format.

The Cuff to Cuff sweater is shown in purple and comes from Red Heart. The free crochet sweater pattern is available in sizes Small, Medium, Large, X Large and XX Large. The pattern is in PDF format.

The next pattern is the BoatNeck Pullover. The pattern is in PDF format and runs in generous sizes. The pattern is available in Extra Small, Small, Medium, Large, Extra Large, 2/3 XL and 4/5 XL.  The pattern is easy and is very pretty, making it a great addition to any woman’s wardrobe.

Our final pattern is the Genevievesweater designed by Melissa Mall of Inner Child Crochet. The sweater is available in PDF format and can be customized to fit different sizes.

I hope you enjoyed today’s free crochet sweater patterns.

Six Plus Size jackets and cover-ups: Free crochet patterns

Today we have six plus size jackets and cover-ups, free crochet patterns that are perfect for those in larger sizes. It can be difficult to find plus size patterns in crochet styles, so hopefully these will be a perfect addition to your summer wardrobe.

The first pattern is pictured above and is the Zen Jacket in light, periwinkle blue. It’s an intermediate level pattern from Caron and uses a beautiful fan pattern. The pattern runs in sizes from Small to 3XL.

The next pattern is the TrippyTunic. It is extremely versatile and the pattern is for a one size fits all. The model is shown wearing a yellow and green version, but you could change the color combination to anything you like. One thing about this pattern is that the design has a spider web look/feel to it. This would be great to whip up at Halloween as well. You could crochet it in black and orange for the perfect spooky cover up. Use white and soft colors for a great summertime cover up. Note, the yarn called for in the pattern is discontinued, but you can easily substitute another yarn. Just check your gauge and you’re good to go.
Our third free crochet pattern is the Tokyo jacket shown in jade green. This is a great cover up that features a solid back. The pattern is for sizes from Small to 3XL. You can download the pattern in
PDF format or read it on the site.

Now we have the Plus SizeTank. This is a user created pattern and the exact size is not listed, but you can get a good idea from the model wearing it. If you are looking for a plus size tank top or chemise crochet pattern, this may be one to try out. I would suggest using a soft, baby type yarn as opposed to acrylic so that your finished garment is as comfortable as it is pretty.

The Sweetie Pie top is a great pattern that you can whip up in three, separate styles. There is the tank top version, the long sleeved, and the bell sleeved options. The pattern is for sizes Small to 3X. I think this pattern’s versatility and generous size makes it a great option for many women who are looking for the perfect plus size top pattern.

The Silk Bamboo CrochetCardigan is our final crochet pattern. This is a Caron’s pattern and is in PDF format. The free crochet pattern is available in sizes from Extra Small to 4/5 XL. This is a very feminine cardigan and is perfect for year-round wear.

Six free crochet patterns for summer: Bikinis and coverups

Summer’s here and that means it’s the perfect time for a new, crochet bikini or swimsuit cover-up. We have found six awesome, free crochet patterns perfect for summer wear. The BermudaBeach Cover Up is pictured first. It is a gorgeous, white mesh crochet dress that is perfect for wear over a bathing suit. The pattern comes from Anno Designs and is the perfect addition to any summer wardrobe.
The next pattern is the Crochet Rio Bikini and Coverup. It is a gorgeous, little set that is perfect for those who want to flaunt their figure by the pool or at the beach, while the cover up top gives just a little more coverage to the tummy area. Note, this is not a plus size pattern and only runs in small, medium and large. You can download the free bikini pattern in PDF format.

Next is the Tasseled BikiniTop from Garn studio designs. The pattern uses a gauge in centimeters, and some may want to convert the pattern to inches. Though this may be cumbersome for those new to crochet, the top is just so gorgeous, I had to include it.

The white bikini top withmatching skirt is a certain eye-catcher. Those who want a bit more coverage will feel comfortable with the skirt, while still showing off their sexy curves. This is another Garn studio designs.

The Party by the PoolCover-up, featured in black, runs in sizes from XS to 5XL. It’s a hooded jacket and you may find yourself in love with this free pattern and embellishing on it. You could easily increase the length if you choose and may find it suitable for more than beach or swimwear. The pattern comes from Caron and is in PDf format.

Our final free crochet pattern is the retro-flair, bathing suit Stripes and a Naughty Air. This was a Circulo pattern and is now hosted on the Internet Archive, Wayback Machine. You could work this bathing suit in a variety of colors to create different looks. While there are three colors of stripes used, you could keep it simple to two colors if you wish. Changing the colors can create a wide array of looks. The boy-shorts, bikini bottoms are back in style, making this retro suit perfect for today’s modern fashion.
